Overview
In college, I worked on building a community platform for students. The idea came from a simple frustration, my college had students from engineering, medical, and law, but there was no space where people from different domains could actually collaborate. If an engineering student had a biomedical idea, there was no way to find medical students from the same campus. We created the full design system, colors, typography, components, and layouts. I designed the onboarding flow, the club registration screens, the event pages, and the chat interface where students could connect. We also ran user interviews, turned feedback into wireframes, and kept iterating until the interface felt intuitive.
Results
We shared the prototype with around 15 students from different departments. Most of them said the app felt easy to use and visually clear. 90% said they’d use the event and circle features regularly. A lot of them liked the “Meet Students” part—it helped break the ice and connect with new people.
